Why should I clean my lounges?

Lounges are the dirtiest contents you find in a house. Why? Because so much more of our skin touches them. Our skin produces natural oils to keep it moisturized and we also sweat. These 2 elements are what makes a lounge dirty after the fact that we also eat on them, even if we aren’t supposed to. Because of this we need to use special cleaning agents that break down the oils as these make dirt and dry contaminants stick to the oils on the fibre.

How do we clean them?

We use the tried and true method of steam cleaning. First we pre-spray it and agitate it to loosen all of the oily soils and then extract. These are usually dry in a couple of hours.

Is protection like Scotchguard important?

When protection is applied it covers the fibre to stop wear and staining. Unfortunately, this usually lasts about 12 months with general use and needs to be reapplied. Doing this means that you can get years and years more than if you didn’t do it.
